Mail.Ru Group Limited VK is relaunching creative ecosystem in a major update

VK, the main Russian communication platform, introduced today a major update with a view to present new tools for all content creators including media, publishers and celebrities. Announcement was made on VK Media Day, held today in Moscow Multimedia Art Museum. The update is available in App Store and Google Play.

Updated VK App has the new "Search and Recommendations" section, a personalized collection of content adapted to user's interests, discovering new content from users and communities. AI powered algorithm selects interesting stories, posts, photos, videos and live streams from new sources for each user. Promoted authors and communities will see an increase in their posts' reach and will receive a special badge in the shape of a flame on their page.

VK is also releasing a platform for long-form journalism with the ability to format text and use multimedia attachments. Such articles will be correctly displayed on all devices. VK is supporting the Accelerated Mobile Pages initiative.

Andrey Rogozov, VK Managing Director, also announced the relaunch of the VK ad network for communities. VK will be sharing ad revenues with the communities. Effective today any community can join the ad network and receive proceeds from the automatic placement of advertisements placed on community pages and in the newsfeed.
