VK Music 2024 results: MACAN, Miyagi & Andy Panda, Basta and other top artists of the year

VK Music shares the results of the year: the most popular tracks, albums and artists in Russia and the CIS in 2024. This year the streaming service presented awards in 22 categories, including music labels, audiobooks and podcasts.
For the third year in a row, MACAN, who has racked up more than 950,000,000 streams, is the Artist of the Year. He also picks up the Album of the Year award for his release I AM, which was listened to more than 280,000,000 times on VK Music. A third of the tracks from the album, which was released this summer, are still featured on the service's chart.
Miyagi & Andy Panda remain strong - their songs have been at the top of the most popular tracks on streaming for the fifth year in a row. The duo from Vladikavkaz won in the category “Group of the Year”: they were listened to more than 700,000,000 times.
Basta wins in the category “Artist with the Largest Audience”. The performer had more than 20,000,000 unique listeners in 2024. "I am grateful to people who listen to my music, come to concerts, and share various parts of their lives with me, where everything has a place: joy, sadness, hope, love, change. We grow together, we change together, and that means a lot to me. In this award and this huge number here and now there is each of you,” the musician said to his listeners .
ANNA ASTI once again became the female artist of the year. Her tracks have been listened to more than 300,000,000 times. And the new single “Topit”, which reached the top of the VK Music chart, helped the singer solidify her position.
Folk motifs of the track “Doroga Dalnaya” performed by Jakone led the artist to take first place in the “Track of the Year” nomination. The folk trend and the “Matuska” track, which became viral in vertical video services, ensured Tatiana Kurtukova's victory in the “Breakthrough of the Year” nomination. The “Trend of the Year” award went to uniqe, nkeeei, ARTEM SHILOVETS and Wipo for their hit “Glamur”.
The award in the new category “All Tracks on the Chart” is rightfully taken by Aarne and BUSHIDO ZHO. This year all tracks from the hitmaker's album WE LIVE ONLY ONCE hit the VK Music chart on the first day after its release.
The most anticipated album of the year was GOD SYSTEM by Kai Angel, which was awarded “Presave of the Year”.
Aspiring artists at the beginning of their musical careers are also in the spotlight. VK Music's “Jump-Start” project for young musicians has helped newcomers release joint tracks with star mentors. The most listened to single within the project was “More than Everything” by Basta and Vassa Zheleznova - the duo receives the “Jump-Start of the Year” award.
This year, for the first time, VK Music honored music labels with special awards. Golden Sound (MACAN, A.V.G, Jakone, SCIRENA) won in the category “Label of the Year” , RNDM CREW (OG Buda, MAYOT, Toxi$, 163ONMYNECK, Inst Rinna) became the creative team of the year.
Of the non-musical content featured on the platform, Rebecca Yarros' Iron Flame audiobook series was recognized as the audiobook of the year. The second installment of the iconic dragon saga was the most listened-to audiobook of 2024. The true crime podcast The Laura Palna Diaries takes first place in the “Podcast of the Year” category . The award in the category “Interview Podcast of the Year" goes to Podcast #1.
VK Music editorial staff chose the album of the year according to the editorial staff - “Svinaya Poputka” by “Vtoroi Ka”, and also traditionally compiled the ultimate playlist of the year with the top-30 tracks.

“Even though some of the winners are already well-known to the public, the year 2024 was marked by creative successes not only for them. It raised the popularity of artists such as Zhenya Trofimov, Minaeva, BLIZKEY, MIRAVI, bearwolf, ALMARY, Merab Amzoevi, and several other names that entered the VK Music chart for the first time in 2024. And that's while artists like MONA, BUSHIDO ZHO and Molodoi Platon have established themselves as stable hitmakers”.
