Mobile Mail.Ru Agent for Android gains ICQ support

14 October 2010, Moscow. The Mobile Mail.Ru Agent for Android has been updated, now granting users of the popular mobile and smartphone OS access to one of their most eagerly awaited features: ICQ support.

Mobile Mail.Ru Agent's own protocol is complemented now by that of ICQ as well. This means that users of the messenger program have the unique opportunity to talk with all of their friends – with one program instead of two.

The updated version of Mail.Ru Agent for Android, as before, boasts such useful functions as free SMS messaging, support for multiple accounts, as well as microblogging for publishing short messages displayed in status updates not only in the Agent, but also on the My World@Mail.Ru social network and Blogs@Mail.Ru.

The new Mobile Mail.Ru Agent is available for download on the Android Market on any Android phone.

Detailed information about other application functions and how to install it can be found on the Mail.Ru Agent website.

“The mobile Internet in Russia today is the second most popular way of getting online. Mail.Ru pays close attention to tendencies on the market, and tries to create the most comfortable means possible for users on a range of operating systems to talk with each other. Many owners of Android smartphones could hardly wait for a Mail.Ru Agent with ICQ support. We are thrilled to offer our users a new Agent version that includes two popular protocols in one package,” enthused Anna Artamonova, vice president for communications services at Mail.Ru.
