Hamburg, Germany — March 2, 2010 — Astrum Online Entertainment GmbH today announced its rebranding to become Mail.Ru Games.

Mail.Ru has recently finalized the acquisition of Astrum Online Entertainment, including its studios Astrum Nival, IT Territory, TimeZero, DJ Games, and its European branch Astrum Online Entertainment GmbH, which from now on will be operating on the global games market using the brand “Mail.Ru Games”.

The most popular title developed and launched by the company is the award winning fantasy browser-based game Legend: Legacy of the Dragons. The game takes place in the magical world of Faeo, where Humans and the Magmars fight each other in fierce battles over power, while two Mighty Dragons protect the interests of these two factions. However, when Chaos arises, even they fail to maintain the fragile balance of power. After entering this realm of amazing adventures, players can become great warriors or crafty magicians, fight ferocious monsters, participate in large-scale battles and experience both the joy of victory and the bitter taste of defeat.

Developed in 2006, Legend: Legacy of the Dragons soon became an international hit. First launched in Russia, it was localized into seven different languages and subsequently launched with great success in the UK, Germany, Poland, Turkey, France, Spain and China. In 2009, a specific version of the game was developed for social networks and successfully released on MyMir@Mail.Ru and Facebook, where it has been quickly gaining popularity among users.
